Guitar

Ross Hechinger, a native Washingtonian, started playing drums and guitar when he was 12. He studied classical guitar in Mexico and then at Syracuse University, where he performed professionally with his band, Sweetlyn Sound. The band eventually was "drafted" to be one of the opening acts for Bruce Springsteen's Dr. Zoom and the Sonic Boom (pre E-Street Band days).

In the late 1990's, he studied jazz and electric guitar with Eric Ulreich, a prolific instrumental composer and Washington Area Music Association Best Instrumentalist nominee. After taking three decades off to pursue a non-musical career, Ross along with Alvin Nichols, formed an R&B band, the "Grateful Dads". This led to the creation of the Upton Blues Band, where he continues to pursue his passion for music and the Blues!
